Jimmie Johnson Extenze Master

You know I never really liked Jimmie Johnson.  Many Cowboys fans may hate me for saying it but I always thought he was a pompous ass.  Now I can prove it.  I don't get to watch a lot of TV lately but I "lucky" enough to catch his latest commercial for Extenze. You know it makes that certain part of male anatomy larger.  I guess Jimmie has a small you know what or did.

What little respect I had for this man is gone.  What a joke.  Did Fox fire him or something?  Because all I can think about are the jokes at the round table next season.

Another of my favorite players retires.

Well I just saw that it's official the Big Hurt is hanging up his cleats.  I was wondering if he was going to go one more year or not.  I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for him.  Being from the midwest and being a military brat I've only gotten to see a few pro games and back in 1992 I was lucky enough to get down to Chicago and see the Big Hurt rally the White Sox to a come from behind win.  I wish I could remember who they were playing.  But I remember a great day at the ballpark.  I'm sure Frank will be a shoo in for the HOF.  2 time MVP with over 500 career HR's.  Well I'll miss you buddy.

Custom Cards and Through the Mail TTM

So I'm sitting here in BFE Alaska watching all 5 seasons of Lost.  I'm addicted and so far I'm so much more pleased then I was with Heroes.  At least this series gets better each season.

Damn I'm rambling again.  OK so the reason for the post.  I've been cuising the blogs looking at a lot of Through the mail success and custom cards people are putting out and my question or questions I should say are these.  For the TTM people are there any how to's out there?

I saw the one post at Badwax.  Second when sending a card to you protect it in a top loader at all or just loose so it's easier to sign?

And for the custom card makers.

Are there any how to's out there for this?  Second, what programs do you use?  What card stock and where do you get your card stock?

I bored and fairly artistically talented.  Thought I'd try something new.  So any help from you guys would be great and I figure maybe a few other would be custom card makers and TTM'ers might benefit from your knowledge.

Go Kazakhstan!

mmmm Crack.

I am Kazakhstan

Well if anybody has been followoing the blogosphere, JD's Wildcardz is having a contest and all you have to do is pick a number.  Then to get bonus entries he asks that you plug him on your blog.  I already did that yesterday.  But go here to get in the contest there's still a few numbers left.

So I wanted number 19 which is my favorite baseball player of all time's number.  Robin Yount.  But it was already taken I'm sure that 19 was Norway or the US.  So I went with my second favorite player number 34 which is Rollie Fingers.  I just looked JD's blog to see what country I got.  Yep Kazakhstan.  Well know for all there winter olympic hopefuls.

I really hope they have a prize for fewest medals.  LOL still can't beat a free contest and its fun.  Looks like I know who i'm going to root for this winter.  After a quick google search, since the USSR broke up Kazakhstan has only won 5 medals at the winter olympics, 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

The way the contest works is you pick a number and that number is randomly assigned to a country.  You get points for medals won.  Easy enough.

Well good luck everybody.  I'll need it.

Olympic Style Contest Over At JD's Wildcardz Shameless Plug

I'm shameless yep and the rest of you are too.  But I'll take 3 extra entries into any contest when they're this easy.  JD's dad over at JD's Wildcardz is having an olymipic contest.  There are still a ton of spots left so go over there follow the link and you may want to check the current list of available numbers.  Sounds like there will be lots of kewl swag.

I love me them oddballs!!

I'm an oddball lover there's no doubt about that.  Food issues, irregular sizes, pins, coins, bottle caps, you name it I've probably got at least one.  But what I didn't have any of is any 1970 Milton Bradley Baseball Game cards.  And to be honest there was only one I wanted to get.
Bammm.
A second year Reggie Jackson card.  The seller wasn't lying abou the condition it looks unused.  As part of a game I'm sure a lot of these cards were well handled and well used.

Here's what the backs look like.

I found this surfing online it's the box the cards came in.

I found a bunch of info on the game at KeyMan Collectibles website.
There are 28 players all told.  Pretty much an All-Star lineup.

Well until I find something else to blog about.

Tales from the Mojo Beard

I was purusing the Sports Card Blogroll.  If you like the hobby of card collecting and sports in general you really should bookmark the site.  JayBee has collected 279 blogs from the ether on all sorts of topics.  Everything from player and team centered sites to specific year set blogs to information oriented blogs and of course rants about the hobby and industry.  He's got the big boys like the Upper Deck and Beckett blogs, as well as, well me.

Anywho I'm gettin goff topic as usual.  I like ready Beardy's baseball blog.  He's an Orioles fan.  Which I can respect. Baltimore has a long great sports history.  Plus the Orioles can trace there origins back to the original Milwaukee Brewers of 1901.  And who doesn't love Cal "Ironman" Ripken Jr?

Stay on target!! Well I see in his latest post.  That Beardy and the Mojo Hand have combined forces to form The Mojo Beard.or Moho and Beardy's Fantastic Card Blog and already they have some great posts.  My favorite so far is the Upper Deck Conspiracy.  It's nice to see the Mojo back at the keyboard after he walked away from the Moho Hand blog earlier this year.  Both these guys are very active traders and have links on the new site to what they collect and their wantlists.   I highly recommend all their sites.
So keep up the good work boys.
