Trade night booty Part 7 ... College Football Packs

So here we have the college packs.  Although the Sage 5 Star is pretty much a go between.

Upper Deck is using it's NCAA license here putting out univerity specific offerings.  While I think the cards are well done, it's a pretty slim market for these cards.  Lets have a look.

First up the Longhorns pack.

Next we have the Sooners.
Like I said a nice quality UD product, great photograph, nice simple design, but if your not a Longhorns or Sooners fan who cares?

Next up we have the Sage 5 Star.  I never really noticed this when it came out.  Many because I usually stay away from college cards, so that means I usually overlook all Sage and PressPass offerings, but this was something different.  I did a double take when I noticed the $45 dollar price tag on the pack.  Especially since it was just mingling with all the other packs in the bunch.  You get 3 cards and 5 autos.  Not too shabby.
Here's what I got.

I have a buddy who's a big Ohio State fan he might get a kick out of this card.  Dane is now with the Bears and Cameron with the Steelers.

Here's a couple of Eagles rookies.  Of course I know of Casey, he comes from a very famous football family, too bad he's not having such a great year.  I am , of course, a huge fan of his brother Clay.

And here we have Torrey Smith, who now plays for the Ravens.
I really like this pack a lot, although I doubt I'd have ever actually bought a pack of this.

Trade night Booty Part 6 ... The Baseball Packs

Here we have the baseball packs from my winnings at trade night last Wednesday.  I'll start with the Bowman Chrom and BDPP and then highlight the inserts from Topps Update.

This product just seems pointless to me.  Maybe not as point less and BDPP, but still if you can only put out so many baseball sets a year with your exclusive license why not something originial?  The highlight of the pack was of course the Josh Beckett Blue Refactor.

Wow. I'm so glad I never bothered to waste any money on this product.  I just don't see any difference between this and the regular Bowman and Topps doens't even bother to change the design even a little.  The Mike Trout and Craig Kimbrel were the highlights of the pack.

Now onto Topps Update.

From Series 1

Both from Series 2

I've already bought too much Update, but getting a jumbo and regular pack is always nice and getting a jersey relic ain't too bad either.

Trade Night booty Part 5 the Hockey Packs....

Here we have 4 of the 5 packs of hockey I got.  I didn't bother to throw in the Score Hockey pack because I didn't get anything out of it and it's Score Hockey.  Let take a look at some great Hockey cards.

First up Upper Deck Series 1

Not a bad offering from Upper Deck.  It's got the quality we've come to expect from Upper Deck.  I really like the UD Canvas cards, they have a great feel to them and just look cool.

Next up Certified Hockey.

The highlight was of course the Lindros Immortals numbered to 500.  The cards aren't bad, if you like the Panini foilboard look.

Next up O-Pee-Chee

Scotty!!  Scott's from Anchorage so we'll lead with him.

That Wideman Retro card is neat.

Now on to my favorite Hockey pack and maybe my new favorite card set of the year!!!  I'm glad I didn't open any of this earlier or I might have ended up spending a lot of money on it.

Parkhurst Chamions.
Wow these cards just look so awesome.  You can't see it, but I'm giving Upper Deck a standing slow clap.  And of course I love the Champ's Mini's too.
