I love oddballs and I love the old Topps inserts and of course I love the Packers.  I've had a few different cards from this set on and off.  It's hard not to like these.  There smaller in size so there's the mini appeal and of course there vintage so that always helps.  There's quite a few HOFer's in this set.  2 players per team.  The other Packer featured in this insert set is #22 Willie Wood.  I have that card somewhere.

Hey look another Bart Starr card. Damn right!  Of course this card is near the end of Bart's great career.  Still the 1970 Topps Football is a nice looking set.  1970 would be that last full season Bart played football, still he's like a golden god in Green Bay.  This is and the 1960 I featured earlier are the only 2 Starr's I own.  I get on certain kicks in my collecting.  At one time I was aquiring Packers pretty hard, now I seem to be focusing on my Brewer collection.  But I ended up getting this Starr for a good price and it's in great shape. And it's nice to feature a card now and then that isn't gold foiled, low numbered, and encrusted in relics.

As with any team there are players that have reached iconic levels.  As a Packer fan there are probably none more iconic than Bart Starr.  I'm slowly trying to put Packers team sets together and of course one of the over all goals is a complete set of Topps.  The late 50's and early 60's get expensive because of this guy.  But I'm always on the look out for a good deal on his vintage cards and picked this card up pretty reasonably and it's in very nice shape.
