Sorry for the delay.

9th Annual Almost the Easiest World Series Contest on the Web - Official Sign-up Post!!
Well I may have been MIA blogging for most of the year, but I wouldn't miss either of my annual contests. Like years past I just want you to tell me who's going to win the World Series. Of course there's a very good chance more than one player will pick the correct team so we'll have to have a few tie-breakers as well.
So for those who haven't played before or those that need a refresher here's how it's going to work.
Just tell me who's going to win the World Series, and for tie breakers tell me the opposing team, the number of games in the series, and total home runs (which should be astronomical this year) that will be scored during the series (the sum of both teams totals for all games played). Your entry should look something like this.
Brewers over Twins, in 5, 23 HRs
Your choices this year are:
National League:
Milwaukee Brewers
Atlanta Braves
St. Louis Cardinals
Washington Nationals
LA Dodgers
American League:
New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays
Minnesota Twins
Houston Astros
Oakland Athletics
This year I'm a little better prepared and have already picked out the grand prize for the lucky winner.
A complete 1990 Classic Trivia card set.
One disclaimer about the prize. The original packaging is in rough shape and all the playing pieces are missing. Not only that but the size is unruly to ship, so the winner will recieve the three cello wrapped packs, but I will remove the packaging for shipment. Additionally the winner will reciveve a nice stack of cards from their favorite team(s). This may also include some autos or relics, depends on what I have lying around.
But wait there's more!! Like contests past everyone is entered into a drawing for my door prize. This year. That door prize is the 1990 Classic Travel edition set!! Sense a theme here?
Again the packaging is in pretty bad condition and to make it easier on me for shipping the two cello packs will be removed to send out. The door prize winner will also receive a nice stack of their favorite team(s). Plus if you promote this contest on your blog, twitter, facebooks groups, or any other social media, you will recieve a second door prize entry. Just one per person though and make sure to leave a link in the comments so it can be verified. The door prize winner will be chosen by adding all the entries to a list randomizer at random.com and randomizing the list 3 times. Person at the top of the list wins.
The playoffs start in just a couple days, but I'm going to leave the contest open to noon on Saturday October 5th at noon Alaska time 4pm EST.
Alright good luck everybody!

TTM Success Rick Waits 0r Finally Finishing the 80s
I had a very pleastant surprise in the mail box yesterday. I got another TTM back and this one finally fills the last 80's spot in my Brewers TTM project. Like Tom Tellmann who I featured earlier I sent Rick Waits his 84 and 85 Topps cards. As you can see Rick has a bold and beautiful signature. I decided that Rick's 84 card would take the year spot. Now onto the finishing the 90's and 00's.

TTM Success - Tom Tellmann
Wow we have a heat wave going on up here in Alaska. Anchorage hit 90 degrees yesterday. That's a new record not just for the date, but for an all time high temperature for the city, since they started keeping track of that sort of thing. Whew. I've also got other big news, but I'll save that for a later post. Instead I'm going to ply you with a few more successful TTM's. First up is a couple nicely signed Tom Tellmann cards. I strategically sent out a quartet of TTM requests early last month. I only need two more year's from the 80's and that decade is closed for my project. I sent Tom his 1984 and 1985 Topps cards, that's last two years I need in the decade. As a rule I'm trying to get a different player for each year, so Tom will only get to count for one of those year's, but I'll spoil this right now and tell you I just got back another TTM today that finished off the decade and I'll feature that success later.

TTM Success - Frank Linzy
It's been awhile since I've had a TTM success and seems like even longer since I posted here. But I finally can put the 1970's to bed in my Brewers TTM Project. 1973 was the last year I needed to get a card signed by a unique Brewer. I figured I had better start making an effort as a lot of the guys from that era are starting to pass away and even fewer are signing TTM.
Luckily there was one guy that was pretty dependable, still with us, and was a Brewer and had a Brewer's card in 1973. Frank Linzy. Frank played for the Brewers in 1972 and 1973, well before my time, as I was born in 1973. Frank is now 78 and still has a great signature. I'll let Tony L. over at Off Hiatus give the indepth story on Frank in his meet the Brewers series, but according to his wikipedia page Frank was one of those great fireman pictures of the late 60's with 110 saves to his credit.
Thanks Mr. Lizny for being my 1973 auto and rounding out the decade.
