Well Then - The 7th Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web comes to a close

Ahem.  Well I thought the Falcons had this thing wrapped up in the first half, but let that be a lesson to you.  It's funny I have a female friend that lives in Houston, but doesn't know anything about football.  She asked at the half if 21 points was a lot.  I responded by telling her, yes 21 points was a lot, but not against Tom Brady.  I'm glad that the Pats made it competitive in the end.  To me it seems like after the first half the Falcons were playing not to lose.  Which is way different than playing to win.

I also have to say that it came to no surprise to all of you who was the favorite to win.  23 people picked the Patriots to win again this year, 23!  In the end though it came down to just 4 picks though.  We had 4 people correctly guess the match up, three of those correctly picked the winner!

The correct guess with all the correct tie breakers would have been

7th Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web - Conference Championship Take Down!

Well that was a little anticlimactic.  I sure wish the Packers had made it a better game and New England handled Pittsburgh pretty easily.  That said we lost 10 and with the Super Bowl teams set there were a lot of people that picked the Patriots, but only 3 that correctly guessed the match up would be against the Falcons.  And our lone player, Spankee, to pick the Falcons also correctly picked the match up.  I've highlighted the four picks still in it.

7th Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web Divisional Games Round Up

Well heck that was an interesting weekend of football.  I don't think anyone was surprised to see the Patriots handle the Texans, although at half time I was wondering if there might be an upset.  I was surprised how well the Falcons manhandled the Seahawks.  What a game Sunday morning.  As a Packers I swear the Packers are trying to kill me with a heart attack.  And I didn't get to watch the Pittsburgh-Chiefs game but I here the kickers got a workout.

That said we lost 12 this round, but with the Patriots being the overall favorites there are still plenty of you in it.  I've also added a few more cards to the prize pool.

First up for the Door Prize I have this great 1991 Domino's Pizza Quarterback Challenge complete 50 card set. Some great Hall of Famers in the set.  It also comes in a nice little carrying case.

Wow what a great response.  If my count is right we had almost 50 entries this year, 47 actually.  And I want to thank everyone who promoted the contest too.  I did make a much more concerted effort to promote my contest myself on facebook, twitter, and the trading card database.  I will ask that if you entered and are reading this make sure you have contact information on your blogger account please.

It's obvious that the general consensus is a Patriots - Cowboys match up with the Patriots the overall favorite, but I'm still hopeful for my Packers.  And there are a lot of teams with no picks what so ever so that could be a spoiler, but not likely.

I'll be posting additions to the prize pool over the coming weeks.  But first up is a nice auto relic combo lot of Super Bowl champion Adrian Arrington, I think he got a ring anyways, we was on the Saints Superbowl team, though I don't think he played.  Adrian is or was the lead plantiff of a law suit against the NCAA in a concussion lawsuit.  He is currently not playing. Don't worry I'm not changing anything up.  All I want you to do is tell me who is going to win the big game!  That's it.  Well almost.  Since it's likely that more than one of you will pick the right team we need  a few tie breakers.  So like in years past I want you also to pick the opponent, the total points scored by both teams, and the total number of turnovers (fumbles and/or interceptions)..
