Spawning a New blog

I've been debating doing this for a while now.  As I'm getting more and more into Lego's, again, it occurred to me that this blog really isn't set up for that.  What I mean to say is that Collector's Crack is more of a Trading Card blog and there are lots of great Lego and building block sites that don't fit here.  I didn't want to set up a separate blog roll and it was hard to organize sets and my minifigure collection in just one separate page.  No, it was going to take a whole other blog. I wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to another blog, but I have.

So the....

...is born.

Click on the picture it'll take you over there.  Not much there just yet. Working on putting together a links list, blog roll that's Lego and other building brand centered and working on putting up some pages to highlight different sets and brands.  I still plan on posted the random Lego review and pick up here, but also over there and I'll probably repost some of my earlier minifigure posts over there as well.  So if your interested head on over. I've added a link to my sidebar and I'll probably add a link in the blog roll too. If you have a blog dedicated or even partially dedicated to Lego's and other building brands let me know and I'll add to the to the TMC's blog roll.

Secret Stash found of Series 7 Lego Mini Figures

Well since I can't seem to find much to blog about sports cards I present to you some more mini-figures.

It just so happens that the Fred Meyers I go to has their toy section right next to the doors I like to go in. Coincidence? Maybe.  Anyway, I was walking through the Lego aisle because I'm sure that some time I'll find the Doc Ock/Spiderman set, but I did see that they had gotten in 3 or 4 cases of mini figures series 7.  This is well after Series 8 has already come out.  Anyways I didn't have very many Series 7 so I picked a few packs up. And luckily I needed all three.

First up we have the Hippy.

I ended up with a couple extra flowers for some reason.

Next we have Tarzan, or a Tarzan like guy.  He comes with two knives and a chimp.

And finally the cooler of the three, the Daredevil.
The Daredevil comes with two faces. Smiling and...
aghast or scared or something.
Here's what he looks like with his helmet on.
Nice detailing on the to of the helmet too.

Lego Lord of the Rings - Gandalf Arrives 9469

I was picking up a perscription at the local Fred Meyers and happen to walk through the Lego aisle and noticed that all the Lord of the Rings sets were on sale.  And I've had my eye on this one small set for sometime.

I really like these little sets and the fact that you get two mini-figures of probably the most desirable characters from Lord of the Rings is a big plus.

First up we have Frodo.  He comes with a big book.  The book can snap shut but it puts a lot of stress on the plastic joints and after I only closed it once it looked like it might come apart.
Frodo comes with two faces. This worried looked and....
smirk.
There's also some nice detailing on the back of the body.

Next up is Gandalf the Grey.  Gandalf comes with only one face, which probably all you need since most of his face is covered by his beard.
There is also some nice detailing on Gandalf's body, but it's covered up by his cape.

You also get one brown horse with the cart.  You can take the middle portion out and have your mini ride in the center or just on top.

Here is the horse and cart.  In the back is a backpack and barrel.  The backpack contains a letter and the barrel is suppose to be full of fireworks.

And there you go.

5 More packs of Series 8 Lego Minifigures

It's funny I get a ton of page hits when I post about Lego minifigures. So I'm going to post about them again.  I was walking by the toy aisle at my local Fred Meyer's, the same one I seem to walk through all the time and the same one I snagged my first three packs from.  I notice there were still a few Series 8 blind packs left.  8 to exact and I had thought of snagging all 8, but I think that would have been a little greedy. So I only grabbed 5 packs.  And added 4 new figures to the collection.  It's almost impossible for me to pass up a box of these things they're like crack.  Here's what I got.

The DJ

The business man/banker. If you were paying attention you might have caught I said I bought 5 packages and only added 4 new figures.  That's because I pulled two of these bad boys. So one if up for trade if you have an extra minifigures, kreons, ect. that I don't have, to trade for it. I have a link on the side to my need list.
Now my two favorite of the bunch.

Guten Tag!!! I got me the Bavarian/German/Lederhosen guy!!! Sweet pretzel. I love pretzels!!

I also got two feathers for his cap in the package. I'm sure that was just a production mistake.

And my favorite of the set so far....

The freaking pirate!!!! The best part is that peg leg and the hook for a hand.
