Winner, winner, chicken dinner! The 3rd Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web has a winner!!

Well that was an interesting Super Bowl I guess.  I wasn't too impressed with the ads this year, not that anything I see during the Super Bowl makes me want to buy a product, but usually they are entertaining.  Not so much this year.  And lets face it, it looked like the Ravens were going to run away with it there for awhile and yes I realize that it came down to the last two minutes and the Niners almost made an amazing comeback, but most of the game was pretty boring.  Especially since I wasn't vested in either team. And what was up with that hour long power outage?  But we have a winner.

3rd Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web - Championship Weekend Aftermath

Wow, I was wondering if we would have a major upset this weekend.  And honestly we almost had two.  The Falcons came out so hot, but true to form blew it in the end.  Sorry Falcons fans I was rooting for you.

But the Ravens spanking the Pats was our big upset and took our the majority of the field.  With that said we will have a winner this year for picking the right team!!!! Which remember is all I asked for, but again we had no one pick the right opponent so we'll have to go to points.  And remember everyone who entered is still in for the door prize.

3rd Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web Divisional Playoff Update

Wow that was a great weekend of football.  The only thing that would have made it better was a Packer win. But holy cow, double over time!! I don't think anyone expected that game to be that competetive. An incredible comeback by Seattle that almost gave them the game.  The 49ers Packers battle was pretty good at least up until the Packers pretty much started giving the game to the 49ers.  The Texans and Pats game was pretty cut and dry, but the Texas gave it a good try in the 4th.  Anyhow, the Denver game was our big upset for sure and we knocked a bunch of teams out with that one.

3rd Annual Almost the Easiest Super Bowl Contest on the Web Wild Card Weekend Update

Well that was an interesting, but not unexpected outcome to the weekend.  To be honest I think the only game that was mildly up in the air was the Redskins and Seahawks game at before the game.  The fact that the overwhelming majority of you guys picked teams with byes in the first round helped too.  And no one decided to be a spoiler and go after the Bengals, Vikings, or Colts.

In the end we only lost one out of our contestant pool. Sorry CaptKirk42.

It's interesting once I started putting all this in and looking over the picks a few things stand out.  One that the Broncos have a lot of love here.  Also a Patriot/49er's Super Bowl is the most predicted match up.  And no one chose the Bengals.  At all. Not even to show up.  And if you remember last year, which I'm sure you don't we didn't have anyone guess the correct team. No one picked the scrappy Giants last year.  Here's the official contest winner post from last year.  Who knows, who knows.

It's that time again.  It's NFL playoff time and that means in time for the 3rd Annual Almost the Easiest Super  Bowl Contest on the Web.........

It's easy to play and you could win some cool stuff.


All you have to do is tell me who's going to win the Super Bowl.  That's it.  But since more than one person might actually pick the right team we need a few tie breakers.  So I want you to tell me who the opponent is,  how many total points will be scored in the game and I also want you to tell me how many turnovers will happen.

Wow that season went by really fast.  And despite the rocky start with the NFL refs lockout it seems that we had a fairly good season.  Got to see some amazing rookie standouts and of course my team clinching their division in week 15 was pretty nice too.

So just like in past years it'll be pretty simple.  All I want you to do is pick who's going to win the Super Bowl.  But of course there's always the possibility that two people will the same team so we need the tie breakers.  You'll need to pick the opponent and total number of combine points scored in the game.  And if for some reason that still doesn't decide it, I'll use the random.com, but we've never had to go that far and I don't expect to have to this year either.  I know your saying CB this is a contest right? What are the prizes?  I don't know yet.  But we'll have a great grand prize and of course a door prize for all those you participate and pimp the contest.  I'll be posting the official contest link after next Sunday and you should have a good week to get your guess in.
